i get this everytime. wat do?February 3, 2018 at 8:25 AM #144235SergeDavidModeratorColonelTotal posts : 3065
Cyber was talking about this in discord a bit ago that some of the files could be too large for the program to work right. I believe he’s working on a fix.
The known alternative is to download a fresh installer from your profile https://bombdogstudios.com/my-account/downloads/ and try installing the fresh copy from that? I think that’s how people do it from the installer if anyone who does it this way wants to verify.February 3, 2018 at 9:27 AM #144242Rusty ShacklefordParticipantMaster SergeantTotal posts : 244

Yeah, I’ve had to do this for the last two updates now. The updater errors out and gives me that same message about corrupt files. Hopefully they can get it sorted out. Downloading the installer and reinstalling will give you the most updated version but that’s not an optimal solution. 😛February 20, 2018 at 3:24 PM #144933SergeDavidModeratorColonelTotal posts : 3065
I believe cyber said something about looking for a solution and the biggest cause of update failures is that certain files ended up being too large and timing out in the transfer.February 20, 2018 at 8:24 PM #144936Bombdog StudiosForum AdminChief Warrant OfficerTotal posts : 643
To put this issue to bed, the root cause is certain files being to large. Since the updater needs to have the current file and the file it’s replacing in memory at the same time, and it is 32bit, it runs into memory issues when applying the patch.
Best solution is to download the installer. This can have issues as well though, if the server bandwidth starts to get overrun, the installer can be incomplete.
The solution coming up with be a full, from scratch, new update system. This will work better with the 64bit build and will allow the installer to be a small portal file instead of a monster 1-2gb exe.March 23, 2019 at 7:24 PM #147109whiteyzzParticipantNewbieTotal posts : 3
