I’ve started a regular series on Entropic Gaming (the YouTube Channel that I am a part of) and figured that I would throw a link to it up here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC81BCxXlnRAWsRi2vZiuHVQ/featured.
We’d love if you want to subscribe to the channel, but I’ll also try and make a post in this thread whenever I add a new video to the series. I’m looking to post a new M.A.V. video at least once a week so hopefully you all enjoy it.
Thanks everyone!February 15, 2017 at 11:52 AM #136284SergeDavidModeratorColonelTotal posts : 3065
I’ll check it out tonight. Going to do any sort of themeing?February 15, 2017 at 12:38 PM #136288
Nothing that I’ve settled on yet. With the new update and the heat mechanics it brings with it I’ll probably focus my next episode on exploring the garage a bit and trying to build a new MAV around the heat mechanics. Needless to say I suspect that most of our old builds will need some modifying now xDFebruary 15, 2017 at 2:57 PM #136289

I actually balanced around trying to minimize that! The goal is for you to have to try to build something that is overheating right out the gate.February 15, 2017 at 3:19 PM #136291
Interesting: I’ll keep that in mind as I play around in there. Regarding the new heat features, have you thought about adding a feature to the garage that would let us run our M.A.V.s up to simulate operating loads so that we can see how it looks in thermal vision and how well its heating systems are working? Sort of like a dynometer for M.A.V.s I suppose.February 15, 2017 at 3:22 PM #136292twaldowskiParticipantGunnery SergeantTotal posts : 191
I noticed with an experimental tread build on New Amazon the generator health was flashing. I replaced a spacer with a two prong radiator and it’s good to go except for the radiator being a target. Tried the THoR X500 – now maybe I can fight on New Amazon and see the target.February 15, 2017 at 4:02 PM #136302

I did think about that, but it was a last minute thought and not enough time to get it into the update.
Stop by the twitch stream tonight and see what it took for the update! http://twitch.tv/bombdogstudios
[here’s a preview, I basically had to rewrite every shader in the game!]February 15, 2017 at 4:02 PM #136303AnvildudeParticipantMajorTotal posts : 1884
Ooh, a Dynamom would be neat. You could probably work out a ‘test area’ with minimalist geometry to test all that as well- call it a ‘simulation’ so that any damage that occurs doesn’t cause part loss. Let us test out speeds, turning, recoil, heat, etc.
Also, you have at least one more sub from me.February 15, 2017 at 4:07 PM #136304
Coolio; Thanks a ton Anvildude! We really appreciate it. And I’ll try and make the stream tonight Cyber; we need to do a group recording of We Need to Go Deeper after Chibi finishes her Minecraft recording but we should hopefully be done in time for the stream tonight. Hopefully the dynometer/heat test can make it into a future update or something xDFebruary 16, 2017 at 10:20 AM #136410
Whelp, I recorded an episode of me talking about the garage, complete with a magical self-combusting generator when I went to test it, but I’m having the same audio desync issues that my last recording had so I won’t be able to get it edited until Mike (The room and channel mate, who might be joining us by the way) gets home to show me the workaround he used to fix my last episode >.<February 16, 2017 at 12:51 PM #136417LegacyElite84ModeratorLieutenant ColonelTotal posts : 2516
A couple of quick and dirty fixes for you for future videos. Don’t know what you’re recording with, but Fraps has done me well with this game, so if you’re interested, you should try it out. Secondly, just record the gameplay, and do a talkover as you watch the replay.February 16, 2017 at 1:02 PM #136418
Thanks Legacy; we’re using Open Broadcaster (OBS) to record with. Mike was able to show a quick and easy fix for the audio sync issue I had (I literally just need to change the raw footage from an .mp4 to a .mov before I pull it into Premier) as well, so hopefully that will be the end of my audio issues in the future as well. I definitely appreciate the advice though!February 16, 2017 at 1:05 PM #136419AnvildudeParticipantMajorTotal posts : 1884
Premier also has options to synch audio with video, too.
Or I might be thinking of Blender…
But yeah, Fraps has done very well by me- a lot easier than all the rigamarole to get other software working. You just need plenty of HD space, since it records RAW video without encoding.
