Tewdrig is the essence of MAV.
Without Tewdrig there is no MAV.
It’s also a 10-20 ton war machine and can you imagine a bus shaking when you shoot it with a shotgun… nope, it may rattle and make noises from having its sheet metal and structure eviscerated but the bus isn’t going to pirouette from being shot – the structure would bend and such and that and destruction of its components absorbs the impact force.
The instant impact force throwing the MAV around is like assuming its a rigid body and transfers 100% of impact force into rotational momentum, which is an immersion breaker since real life vehicles of this size dont react this way.
Cannons are nearly uselss. Machine gun and shotgun spam is way better for close assault. For direct-fire, I use SNP.X2s which are level 1 weapons. They act like tank cannons.
Actual CON type Cannons fire too slowly, damage only one part on impact, and have a ridiculously poor chance of hitting any maneuvering target. The muzzle velocity and effective range is so low, one can just walk away from CON fire – yes, even the CON.160 with its autocannon firing rate is very lame because you can walk around 20 meters outside of its effective range and the shell will slow down suddenly in mid air after hitting the magical max range barrier.
CON in my mind should really be more like the starter sniper cannon, – as in, it’s a “cannon” not a low velocity howitzer that is the CON now. Another way to balance things out is make the shell deceleration upon outside max range less severe for the CON and other large bore weapons – after all, larger shells have bigger momentum. Slower shell deceleration also means skilled pilots can hit with CONs at longer range… which they can’t now because of the shells literally stopping in mid air and dropping to the ground. That’s what it looks like from the perspective of being fired on by CONs.
I use armor. A lot. Even my unarmored designs have some sort of protector shield for the cockpit.
Right now I really need some sort of angled piece bent in the middle so I can create light to mediumweight spaced armor designs without resorting to using extra generators or a big generator between the chassis and the cockpit so I have a forward facing hardpoint to mount an armor piece.
Having 600kg + of spacers to support one protector is just… meh considering it’s really not overpowered protection at all but simply logical vehicle design.

When you click the Quick Battle button, a list of multiplayer servers are listed. Click on the server to join them.
Clicking on “Single Player” at the top of the screen loads a single player map, and the Game Settings button on the top right is to setup maps and bots for single player.

Multiplayer is available when you buy the game. Note this is a small community so look in this thread for the multiplayer timing.

Prior to the Europan Revolution of 2076, EDF surveillance units and operatives uncovered evidence of unauthorized modification of MMVs with heavy weaponry and armor. This ungainly-looking behemoth of a M-005E (MOOSE) core unit mated to a heavy tracked chassis is one of many improvized fighting vehicles deployed by the Europan rebels.

I’m pretty good at holding attention. I feel we could work well together.
Then again, I also feel that Carmenera’s playstyle matches my own a lot more.

Being able to barely hold 10-15 FPS when the fur starts flying, I won’t be of much use in a MP tournament. Though, I managed to have a fun sniper duel with @cyberdogs7 once in multiplayer – that was fine because only his lone MAV was on screen @ 50fps!
For starters, adjustable camera height and zoom would be lovely to pose parts and screenshots.
Exactly, I’m not even sure where I heard the term CONcussion rifle but there you go. I can’t visualize any sort of modern autoloading cannon doing no splash damage whatsoever lol.
There are Concussion Rockets in this game, confusing.
I would like to see some useful rebalancing of the concussion rifle – right now it feels really underwhelming to use because it doesn’t do splash damage, is hard to hit with and even firing multiples doesn’t give a lot of useful suppressive effect due to their low rate of fire.
So here are a few suggestions for consideration:
1) Since the weapon is a blast effect type (hence CON) I would say blast effect = HE round = make it like a small direct fire howitzer. Also the muzzle of the thing is HUGE. Not doing splash on a concussive blast really makes it underwhelming for the weapon weight, because 2 LGT machine guns are nicer to have for ‘nam style suppressive fire.
2) Rate of fire increase – If shots fired by CON are meant to be low damage perhaps we can repurpose this weapon into the classical Battletech autocannon with 2x ROF. It might be unbalanced… but against moving targets or targets hull-down at range it is very difficult to hit with a CON. As a balancing factor, up the recoil, reduce ammo load and automatic fire of off-center “AC/10s” will then be up to pilot skill. Literally giving 10 shots per ton like Battletech/Mechwarrior.
