Hey, guys! I’m back and will be active once again!
Sorry for disappearing! Life happens, yknow? 🙂
^ I can’t even believe that’s still going around.
Anyway, yeah. Enjoyed the reddit threads! Def. make another video!
So, if, in the even that the lobbies do come to fruition, will we be able to chat with each other while we’re setting up a map? Ie. Somehow integrating in-game voice chat, and having a chatbox for the lobby (and maybe the potential for having multiple chat windows open at once?).
This also brings up the idea of a toolbar, or ChatBar that’s permanently part of the GUI so you can communicate with people in and out of a game?
I found it by mistake and was forced to return to the Cult of Glacier Senpai. 😆
This thread has been quite an adventure. Glad to see things haven’t changed since I disappeared. :3
And a limit of 2-4 colours. 😛
It’d be great if we could colour each individual hex and then send the file to other users if we’re going to be on the same Squad.
You know, the more I think about this, the closer I lean to relying on the fact that there would be greater recoil based upon the fact that we’re firing a friggin’ huge projectile on a planet with 1 one sixth of Earth’s Gravity.
I’m liking that you let us know what font you used. Maybe a bit too much. 😀
Well, yeah, but imagine how much it’s gonna cost them to produce that many? People BUY the kickstarter because they want the product!
If the weapon is ABOVE the pivot point, it will kick harder, because the force is applied to a point that is further away from the pivot and has the weight of the other parts that will marginally slow it down. The same principle applies to the lateral (left-right) placement of the weapon. It will push or pivot the MAV around the pivot point more if it’s further away from the pivot point.
I will be trying out a few things with high-kick weapons by making a lowrider build of sorts by having the weapons BELOW the pivot point. I’m hoping that this little test disproves my statement (above), but it’ll be nice to see how the placement affects the recoil in practice.
Can I get a link? (There are some fairly cheap and well-built 3D printers out there. I saw a YouTube video that covered the best 3D printers for your money. Some of them were quite affordable.
With most cannons (Bullots specifically), they deal around 100+ damage, and with 4 of them with maximum accuracy and high speed, that’s close to 450 damage hitting you every five seconds, maybe eight. Add that to the other super accurate enemies that spam you with ARs and MGs, and you’ve got a problem on your hands.
Typically, the only way to deal with them is to get in close range and hit ’em with everything you’ve got or *TRY* to snipe them, but most attempts are futile unless you use the external camera and rely on the in-HUD guncam to put your rotation speed to maximum efficiency.
Found this neat little trick whilst building a MAV.
I know it’s a bug, but I only dragged it in and that was the only rotation of the part that phased into the armour and became valid as a result. I checked to see if I could do that with more weapons on the bottom and the top, but that was not the case. Only the one weapon phased into the armour.
