This week, I have taken a step back from code, completely focusing my efforts on redoing the models of the actual M.A.V. parts. So, I would like to present to you my progress so far. Please keep in mind, these are not final, and I have not started on the textures yet (but there will be textures, I promise!).
Pictures below:
This is the new sniper rifle barrel, mounted to the standard weapon base, with a heavy duty magazine. There is no scope in this picture, though I do have 3 scope variations already modeled.
This is the heavy flame thrower, mounted to the same base and magazine as pictured above. I really wanted to get more of an industrial torch feel to the weapon, instead of the ‘giant lighter’ that is in the game right now.
This is the remodeled standard machine gun, with a standard base and standard magazine. This is basically the base line weapon of the game.
This is the ‘long range’ flame thrower. Or at least the longer range. Again, I wanted to try and get the feeling that the flame thrower is a re-purposed weapon.

And last but not least, we have an example of both the heavy cockpit, the medium cockpit, and the reverse joint legs. All of these parts are setup with the modular system, so this is an example of a ‘fully loaded’ version. Each additional piece within the part has its own benefits and costs, so just because these versions have the most stuff, doesn’t mean they are the best.
Other parts that I have done this week:
All the weapons have been redone sans the shotgun and the light base.
The Tank treads and Wheels have both been redone.
This leaves the 3 armor pieces, and the 3 deployment parts left to redo, then it’s on to texturing and putting them in game!
Until next week!
