Senior Environment Artist – Remote

We are looking for a Senior Environment Artist to join the development of MAV, a modular mech game loaded with action!

You will be working on a daily basis to establish look and feel for all environmental assets within the game. You will work closely with level design and gameplay programming to ensure the design goals and performance needs of each level are maintained, while looking visually stunning.

As remote role, daily communication through trello, email, and chat/phone are critical. You will need to be able to check in assets to a remote location, access assets and builds, and coordinate with team members to convey ideas, issues, or suggestions.

Role expectations:

Work with creative lead to establish weekly tasks and goals

Work from concept art, level design white boxes, and established art to create fully realized levels.

Identify level optimizations and workflow optimizations to allow faster delivery of levels that share biomes

Create lighting solutions, both dynamic and baked, for final levels

Work with both internal Unity tools and external tools [World Machine] to generate playable, but visually interesting height maps.

Qualifications

3+ years experience

3+ years experience working in Unity 3d

Strong portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of environmental art, lighting, and a variety of different terrains.

Create clean, technically correct art assets that work within the required memory and texture budgets.

Experience with version control systems (Perforce, git, etc)

Ability to dig into tasks to accomplish them on time

Experience with SCRUM or Agile planning is a plus

Bonuses

Experience working on consoles [X1, PS4, Switch]

Demonstrable experience working with modular level building.

Experiences with large map development

Experiences with multiple game types [RTS, MOBA, 3rd person]
